I bought a potted Christmas tree this year🎄fingers crossed it will still look nice next year 😁 hope everyone has a happy Christmas, stay safe! x

Finally decorated my tree last night 😁 I’m doing everything late this year! I made origami stars from print outs of my digital sketches that I used with my light box to create final illustrations. My cat Walter really loves the tree.

Upcycled packing paper wrap 😁 I decided to use some packing paper as wrapping paper, it was actually really relaxing drawing the little dots ☺️ I also got overly excited by plastic-free bows and ribbons at our village shop 🤭

A few more bugs! 🕸

Continuing my bug theme, here’s a couple of grubs... Not sure exactly what they will become, but I enjoyed drawing them :)

I abducted a woodlouse and spent some time drawing him (I returned him to where I found him despite NOT receiving a ransom). I think I’ve made them look a lot more like sea creatures than they usually do 🤔

I spent some time drawing spiders from close up videos, I’m not particularly scared of spiders but it really made me feel sick, I think it was seeing them so big on the screen! I’ve tried to make them look a little more friendly in these illustrations ☺️

I’ve been working hard on these picture book illustrations for my MA deadline yesterday. Only just finished everything in time! Everything’s taken a lot longer than I anticipated on this project, I feel like I’ve been working really slowly 😳. My next project is the Masters project, very exciting! 😁

Grubs and woodlice. Been drawing lots of creepy crawlies these past weeks as research for a picture book I’m illustrating for my MA. I put them back where I found them after their portrait sitting!

I’ve been having fun teaching myself animation! The main thing that’s put me off animating in the past is how time consuming it can be, but I managed to make this in a morning and afternoon so I’m quite happy with that. I think it helps that my style of illustration is quite simple. I created this animation using audio snipped from a BBC World News Interview, I chopped and changed the order quite a lot! (Link to original below!). I produced it for an MA brief, Headliners - ‘Using any media you consider appropriate, you are required to respond to an aspect of the week’s headline news.’

Do not try unless under the supervision of a Yoga-Tea Fusion instructor!
